Offprints from vols. 47 & 48 of the Mémoires de lAcadémie Royale des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres with separately printed title-page. The four "mémoires" that make up the first item were lectures delivered in the years 1787 to 1791, but published for the first time in 1793; the second, much longer item, a lecture delivered on 5 April 1785, includes long extracts in Arabic from Masoudi, Sirat Alresoul, Kitab Aldjouman, Tabari and others.
Shelfmark on spine, unobtrusive blind library stamp on title-page & following 2 leaves. Owners inscription of Col. S. B. Miles on front free endpaper, and his wifes presentation bookplate (to Bath Public Reference Library) on front paste-down. Wilson 197.
